The ALES Examination:
ALES is an exam required -by some of the Turkish universities- for student who wants to start their Master, MBA and PhD in Turkish universities. There are other universities who does not required ALES exam results.
ALES exam is hold twice a year in November and March by ÖSYM organization in Turkey.
Turkish Universities accept admission for master and doctoral degrees twice in a year.
ALES exam in other countries:
ALES result is valid for 3 years.
If you have several ALES score you can apply with any of them which has validity.
ALES consists of two part of mathematical (100 questions) and linguistic parts (100 questions). The duration of ALES is 180 minutes and 4 wrong questions remove 1 right question.
Some Turkish universities accept students with international certificates of GRE or GMAT scores instead of ALES and some does not require any of these.

The Yös exam
YÖS is an entrance examination for foreign students who want to enter into Turkish universities for undergraduate (bachelor) level in Turkish programs not for English Programs. The exam is administered by ÖSYM, which is an organization for selecting and placing students.
The YÖS Examination is composed of two sets of questions, basic learning skills questions (80 Questions, 45 IQ and 35 Math. It takes 90 minutes) and Turkish language proficiency tests (60 minutes).
